The Role
The Sustainability & Regulatory Compliance Manager will develop, manage and coordinate the company's approach to emerging sustainability, packaging and supply-chain compliance requirements.
The role will focus on:
European Union Deforestation Regulation, EUDR
Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR
UK packaging Extended Producer Responsibility, where applicable
Client and brand-specific sustainability metrics
Customer sustainability reporting
Supplier evidence and declarations
Packaging and material data
Responsible-sourcing information
Sustainability questionnaires and customer compliance portals
The role will work across Sales, Estimating, Design, Procurement, Production, Finance and existing accreditation owners to ensure the company can provide accurate, consistent and auditable sustainability and compliance information to customers, brands and regulators.
This is a coordination, development and assurance role. It does not remove responsibility from departments that generate the source information. Procurement, Design, Production, Sales and Finance will remain responsible for the accuracy of the data and evidence they provide.

01 Responsibilities
The principal objectives of the role are to:
1. Develop the company's EUDR compliance process,
2. Develop the company's PPWR and packaging-compliance process.
3. Improve the accuracy and availability of packaging, material and supplier data.
4. Coordinate customer and brand sustainability reporting.
5. Establish consistent evidence packs for client compliance requests.
6. Reduce the risk of inconsistent or unsupported sustainability claims.
7. Support responsible sourcing and supply-chain transparency.
8. Monitor emerging sustainability and regulatory requirements.
9. Provide clear reporting to senior management on readiness, risks and gaps.
10. Build practical systems that support commercial requirements without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

02 Knowledge
The postholder will help ensure that sustainability claims are accurate and supported.
Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing sustainability claims used in customer responses, proposals or declarations.
- Supporting Sales and Account Management with evidence-based responses.
- Helping prevent unsupported, vague or inconsistent environmental claims.
- Coordinating with the FSC system owner where FSC claims are required.
- Coordinating with the ISO 14001 system owner where environmental-management claims are required.
- Ensuring customer-facing sustainability information is current and evidence based.
- Maintaining standard approved wording for recurring sustainability responses.
- Supporting the development of customer-facing compliance statements where appropriate.
- Escalating any claim that may require legal, certification-body or specialist review.
