01  Responsibilities

Reporting into the Sales and Marketing Director, the Account Director with people management responsibilities oversees the work of Account Manager/Account Executive colleagues in the Sales Team

The Account Director leads, maintains and expands key account client relationships, ensuring service excellence while providing leadership to direct reports.

This role is critical in maintaining the delicate balance between client satisfaction, internal coordination, and business growth

Working as part of the Business Operations Team in developing the process and working practices of the business to drive improvement and inter department collaboration.

02 Knowledge

CLIENT ACCOUNT AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

\- Oversee the management of key business client accounts.
\- Focus on driving organic growth within these accounts through regular meetings and interactions.
\- Lead the Customer pitch, tender and RFI (request for information) process.
\- Ensure adherence Critical Path Analysis (CPA) is consistently met and maintained.
\- Obtain written approvals from clients and retailers and ensure accurate capture of project costs.
\- Work closely with clients to thoroughly understand their needs.
\- Facilitate clear and consistent communication between the client and Impact.
\- Anticipate client needs and proactively offer commercial solutions.
\- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high quality service levels and that all projects are delivered on time and to the brief.
\- Responsible for informing clients on significant issues or concerns which may impact the client relationship to offer solutions and manage client expectations.
 

INTERNAL COLLABORATION AND BRIEFING:

\- Oversee work within the Sales Team and work in collaboration with Project Management and other internal teams to ensure seamless project execution in line with the Critical Path Analysis (CPA).
\- Work in close collaboration with Operational and Production departments to guarantee timely and quality project execution.
\- Ensure clarity of project briefs at every stage.
\- Provide accurate competitive project quotations to win business and maximise profit, ensuring all project costs are accurately captured.
\- Obtain written approvals from clients and retailers throughout the project lifecycle.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

\- Lead and motivate the team, setting objectives in line with company goals, providing feedback, supporting team members' growth and development.
\- Both recognise achievements and address performance issues promptly, implementing improvement plans when necessary.
\- Foster open communication and collaboration within the team and across departments, addressing conflicts promptly, offering guidance and solutions when necessary.
\- Promote a supportive environment that values employee well-being and engagement.

COLLABORATION WITH MARKETING:

\- Work with the Senior Marketing Manager and the Creative Director to identify potential opportunities and develop targeted approach strategies for client growth.
\- Provide insights and feedback on new business development initiatives that support the Sales Strategy.
\- Work closely with Senior Marketing Manager to provide regular marketing content aligned with client needs and interests.

SALES FORECASTING, REPORTING, AND INTERNAL SYSTEMS/PROCESSES:

\- Update sales forecasts weekly to ensure accurate reflection of progress is communicated regularly to the wider business.
\- Ensure all information is continually up to date within Shuttleworth; quantities, delivery dates, quoted prices, product group and purchase order numbers.
\- Ensure all projects have an accurate purchase order number prior to proceeding to production, and all projects are invoiced on delivery.
\- Responsible for compliance of health and safety and company policies and procedures, both as an employee and as the manager of the team.

03 Experience

 Extensive experience as an Account Management/Director role within retail display sector or related industry, including account and project management.
\- Familiarity with operational and production processes in the retail display industry.
\- Proven track record in client growth.
\- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
\- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a relevant field/equivalent is a plus.
\- Strong understanding of the retail sector and its dynamics.
\- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into effective business strategies.
\- Proficiency in sales forecasting and strategic planning.
\- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets.
\- Excellent account management and organisational abilities.
\- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
\- Team player with a collaborative approach to business growth.
